Marin County Real Estate & The Coronavirus

The ability for real estate agents to do business, as usual, came to a screeching halt with the ‘shelter-in-place’ order. However, we are able to show property via Skype, zoom, face time. I have sold two properties via a smartphone tour through my career. Please note – buying a home without taking a physical tour during inspections or prior to close of escrow is NOT for everyone.

With the updated Marin County Health order issued on 4/29/20, vacant and occupied homes may now be shown with certain safety guidelines and pre-showing requirements. We do not expect open houses to come back anytime soon. These new rules should enable more sellers and buyers to more easily engage in real estate transactions effective May 5, 2020. For more details, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Compass and I are taking the coronavirus and SIP very seriously. All of our health is the first and foremost focus at this time.

We will get through this pandemic. It is too early to tell what the world and real estate market will look like once the order has been lifted. Needless to say, I am watching the world and local events and gathering information to assist buyers and sellers very carefully. If you have comments or questions about anything from the current, future real estate market, or working at home, I would welcome the opportunity to chat.

Stay safe!
Jeff
