With its central location at the eastern base of Mount Tamalpais, Kentfield is home to some of the most beautiful homes in Marin. This quiet community is mostly comprised of homes that are older/vintage, some newer and many beautifully remodeled, on large landscaped parcels. Perfect for quiet privacy, the homes are built to blend into the surrounding nature of redwood, manzanita and pine trees.
Kentfield borders Ross and Larkspur, granting the best in both education and commuter options (Larkspur is home to the main commuter ferry terminal in Marin.). Kentfield schools are regularly recognized as some of the best in the county. Bacich Elementary, recently rated #3 in Marin, has an impressive one teacher to about every 16 students. Kent Middle School is in the top 10% of California schools. It is also home to the largest private school in the county, Marin Catholic High School.
Neighborhoods include Del Mesa, Laurel Grove, and Kent Woodlands. Kent Woodlands is the more well-known of these and is known for 4-5 bedroom homes-older original estates on the valley floor and private, view homes slightly up in the hills.
Temperatures range between 83F and 41F. You’ll find Kentfield often has sunny mid-70’s weather during the long summers, perfect for time outdoors. Winters are typically short and wet.
Fun Fact – College of Marin, whose famous alumni include Robin Williams, has the highest transfer acceptance to Julliard of any two-year college in the nation!
