Ross is one of the most exclusive areas in the nation. And it’s no wonder why. Marin Art and Garden Center, an 11-acre historic property, is a stunning example of Ross’ efforts to conserve community spaces. This non-profit has free entry to the spacious grounds, it also holds exhibitions, workshops, family events, and more.
As a home to celebrities and gated residences, it may be surprising to hear that 30% of Ross residents are under 18. But those from the area know why. Ross is a fantastic place to raise a family!
Ross School was recently named the top school in Marin, with a student to teacher ratio of 14 to 1. Ross School is also home to Marin County 2020 Teacher of the Year, music teacher Erika Meeker. Their academic ranking has been placed in the 99th percentile nationally – the top score achievable.
On average, you’ll find 259 sunny days per year in Ross. In fact, you’ll generally find temperatures between 70F-85F for at least 6 months of the year. The winters, while colder, typically only goes down to 42F. Very rarely does Ross dip to the mid to lower 30’s.
Fun Fact – The Ross Post Office, which is housed on the old North Pacific Coast Railroad Station, is a great place to keep in touch with your community. Because there is no mail service in Ross, all mail is sorted using post office boxes.
